Lloyds Banking Group and Peabody have signed a £60m mortgage settlement to fund the sustainable retrofit of hundreds of social properties throughout London and the Southeast.

The mortgage, partially assured by the Nationwide Wealth Fund (NWF) is the biggest issued to this point beneath the government-backed £1.3bn social housing retrofit assure scheme.

The partnership between the private and non-private sector goals to ship hotter, greener properties for social tenants, whereas supporting the UK’s broader internet zero ambitions.
