Recent leaks from internal Apple files point to two upcoming successors to the Studio Display, offering varied sizes and enhanced specifications for professional users.

Two Models in Development

Documents reference prototypes under codes J427 and J527, signaling a 27-inch and a 32-inch version. The larger model promises expanded screen real estate alongside upgraded audio capabilities and additional ports.

Advanced Display Features

Both displays will support ProMotion technology for smooth refresh rates up to 120Hz, along with HDR capabilities. Expect at least one Thunderbolt 5 port, enabling 5K resolution at 120Hz. A shift to mini-LED backlighting appears likely, improving contrast and brightness over the current LCD panel.

Design and Timeline

The exterior design remains unchanged, matching the existing 27-inch model’s dimensions, which reach up to 58.3 cm in height with the adjustable stand. Released in 2022, the original display now faces slipping shipping times, hinting at production shifts for a refresh.

Analysts predict an upgraded processor, potentially the A19 chip slated for the iPhone 17, powering new features. A launch aligns with early March product reveals, starting next week.
