Hollywood Icons React to Affleck’s ‘Cringe’ Project in New Commercial
Ben Affleck has reunited with Dunkin’ for another Super Bowl advertisement, this time featuring iconic 90s television stars Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and Jason Alexander. A recently released teaser showcases the actors reviewing what appears to be an unreleased pilot project from Affleck’s early career.
Awkward Screening Session
The promotional clip shows the Oscar winner enthusiastically seeking feedback after screening a tape labeled ‘Network Pilot ’95 v3’. While Affleck describes the project as having “monster cringe” and “golden cringe,” his celebrity guests offer mixed reactions.
Aniston appears visibly uncomfortable, shaking her head before firmly stating: “No one can see this.” Alexander humorously questions Affleck’s directorial credibility by muttering, “I don’t think he directed Argo,” referencing Affleck’s Academy Award-winning film.
LeBlanc emerges as the sole supporter, asking for a copy and declaring “Still holds up!” despite Aniston’s exasperated response: “Oh God, Matthew.”
Dunkin’ Advertising Legacy
This marks Affleck’s fourth consecutive Super Bowl campaign with the coffee chain. Previous commercials featured collaborations with Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Jennifer Lopez, Casey Affleck, Jeremy Strong, and Bill Belichick.
Industry reports suggest Affleck’s 2023 Dunkin’ commercial generated record-breaking engagement, with company executives noting it drove unprecedented donut sales. The actor has reportedly been involved in conceptualizing and directing several of these advertisements.
Affleck’s Massachusetts roots align with Dunkin’s origins – the chain began as Open Kettle in Quincy in 1948 before rebranding in 1950. The longtime brand ambassador previously revealed he consumes Dunkin’ products daily.
Super Bowl Broadcast Details
The full commercial will air once during this year’s Super Bowl broadcast, continuing Dunkin’s tradition of high-profile marketing during the championship game. No official figures have been released regarding production costs or talent compensation for the latest campaign.
