Chloe Pink, wife of North Melbourne defender Toby Pink, expresses outrage after online trolls relentlessly target her ability to conceive due to her weight.
Instagram Outburst Against Relentless Abuse
Pink shares screenshots of the vicious comments on Instagram, highlighting the emotional toll. ‘This is a snippet of hate I’ve received… it is relentless and exhausting,’ she writes in her final story. She urges those responsible or liking the posts to reflect deeply.
‘How can you be this cruel? How can you think any of this is OK?’ Pink questions, condemning remarks linking her weight to fertility challenges. ‘I swear to god, if I get one more comment about my weight in terms of fertility, I’m going to lose my s*it, it is beyond insensitive. It is cruel, invasive and deeply hurtful. I cannot understand why so many of you are threatened by the fact my husband and I love each other.’
Past Encounters with Body Shaming
In April 2025, Pink faced similar backlash after posting wedding photos from her March marriage to Toby Pink. Trolls posted insults like ‘Did he marry a fridge?’, ‘AFL player by day, pig hunter by night,’ and ‘Did he marry an NRL prop forward?’
Additional abuse followed North Melbourne’s Best and Fairest Awards night. The comments devastated Pink emotionally, shocking her husband as well. ‘He really was in shock,’ she recalls. ‘People say bad things about footballers, but they talk about how they play, not their appearances. We both sat there and cried.’
Toby Pink remains supportive, affirming his love and her beauty. The couple deleted the vile remarks and disabled comments entirely.
Pink attributes her weight to underlying health conditions, stressing that her body is private. ‘Being married to a professional athlete does not give anyone the right to comment on my body or size… that’s no one’s business, and it shouldn’t matter either way.’
