22-Year-Old Fatally Stabbed in Croydon Retail Park, Seven Arrested

A 22-year-old man has died after suffering stab wounds in an early morning attack at a south London retail park. Police have arrested seven people, including three on suspicion of murder.

Incident Details

Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at Valley Retail Park in Croydon, Hesterman Way, around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, February 15. Paramedics discovered three men with stab injuries at the scene.

All three victims received hospital treatment. The 22-year-old succumbed to his injuries, while the two 21-year-olds—one remains in critical condition with life-threatening wounds, the other faces arrest for affray and is in custody.

Arrests in Murder Investigation

Authorities detained two 25-year-old women and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder later that afternoon. They remain in custody.

Two additional women, aged 21 and 22, were arrested for affray. The 21-year-old has been released on bail pending further inquiries, while the 22-year-old stays in police custody.

Police Appeal

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, leading the investigation, stated: “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family at this hugely difficult time; we cannot begin to imagine what they are going through. We understand that this incident will be distressing to the local community. My officers continue to work at pace to unpick the events that unfolded and to apprehend those responsible. We urge anyone who may have knowledge of the incident to get in touch with police immediately.”
