George Goodayle, a 47-year-old former Dreamboys stripper, was observed laughing and joking with his 49-year-old girlfriend hours before he allegedly shot her dead.
Goodayle approached police last Monday, reporting that he had accidentally killed Jayne Nicholson. Authorities discovered her body at their shared home in Les Champs, a village in south-west France.
Shocked Neighbors Describe Loving Couple
Local residents expressed disbelief at the tragedy. Neighbors described the pair as friendly and well-liked in the community.
“They often invited us over for drinks and meals, and it was clear they were deeply in love,” one neighbor stated.
Others recounted seeing them over the weekend prior to the incident. “They appeared carefree, laughing and joking without a worry,” witnesses noted. “Fresh from a short holiday, they embodied a true love story and seemed excited about their future together.”
Couple’s Life in France
Nicholson had launched a bar in the area but was forced to close it after discovering the property was zoned for agricultural use only.
Goodayle, originally from Peterborough in England, managed a construction firm remotely while living abroad.
He faces charges of spousal murder and remains in custody as investigations continue.
