A mobile planetarium invites visitors to dive into the wonders of the night sky right in Hull. The attraction, known as Planetarium Go UK, operates in Queen Victoria Square through Sunday, April 26.
Tour Highlights Urban Astronomy Access
Hull joins four other stops on the nationwide tour: London, Manchester, Sheffield, and Northampton. Organizers aim to deliver astronomy and science directly to urban and remote communities.
CEO Shares Mission
José Jiménez, CEO of Planetarium Go UK, explains: “Our objective is clear: to bring science to places where it has not reached before. We want children, young people, and families to enjoy an immersive experience that sparks scientific curiosity and brings the universe closer to everyday life, regardless of where they live.”
Young Visitor’s Reaction
Seven-year-old Chloe counts herself among the first to explore the portable dome, where films of the universe project onto a massive screen. “It was amazing, so beautiful, and it was stunning,” she shares. “You could look up and it felt like you were actually in space.”
Jiménez hopes the setup inspires broader interest in science. “It’s all very exciting at the moment with astronauts heading off into space. It’s the perfect moment,” he adds.
