MPTF’s Vital Role
Funds support MPTF’s services for working and retired entertainment professionals, including emergency financial aid, housing, healthcare, and more. Over the past six years, MPTF has aided during pandemics, strikes, wildfires, and personal crises. Crew members in the job-by-job economy often face challenges with rent, medical bills, and groceries.
Co-chairs Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca noted, ‘For more than 105 years, MPTF has quietly stood by the artists, crews, and craftspeople who power this industry—in moments of crisis and need. We’re honored to serve as Co-Chairs of this incredible event.’
MPTF CEO Bob Beitcher added, ‘Our Night Before Co-Chairs, Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca said it best tonight that MPTF has quietly taken care of the people who make this industry possible—the artists, crews, dreamers, and craftspeople—in moments of crisis and in moments of need. Whether it’s housing, financial assistance, healthcare, or support during strikes and slowdowns, MPTF is there. Our generous industry supporters and incredible sponsors enable MPTF to make a lasting difference in the lives of industry workers and their families as part of our mission of taking care of our own.’
