King Charles III and Queen Camilla marked their 21st wedding anniversary with a rare public display of affection captured on video. The couple, known for maintaining royal decorum, shared a tender moment during a joint visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on May 19.

Opening of the Highgrove Shop

The royals attended the grand opening of the Highgrove Shop, which features luxury products inspired by the gardens at their Gloucestershire residence. Proceeds support The King’s Foundation charitable initiatives. Inside the store, amid displays of flowers and upscale homewares, Queen Camilla gently placed her hand on King Charles’s arm and back.

Queen Camilla complemented the occasion in a patterned midi dress and wedge heels. King Charles appeared sharp in a suit, navigating the store with his ornate walking stick. The couple later joined onlookers outside for the official shop reveal as curtains parted.

The Highgrove Gardens social media account shared a video montage of the event, set to Sly & The Family Stone’s 1974 track ‘This is Love.’ The caption read: “Happy 21st wedding anniversary to Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla.”

Highgrove House Legacy

King Charles has resided at Highgrove House since purchasing it in 1980. Surrounded by public-access gardens, it serves as the primary family home shared with Queen Camilla since their 2005 marriage.

Royal PDA Etiquette and Past Moments

Royal protocol generally discourages hand-holding or overt affection in public. Yet, the couple has shared subtle gestures over two decades, including a kiss at a 2005 polo match, King Charles assisting Queen Camilla off a ship during their 2023 France state visit, and a reunion kiss in Singapore in 2017 after days apart at the start of their Southeast Asia and India tour.

Two Decades of Marriage

King Charles and Queen Camilla wed on April 9, 2005, following their engagement announcement in February that year. Their civil ceremony included a religious blessing. The pair has navigated challenges, including the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles’s cancer diagnosis in February 2024, with Queen Camilla providing steadfast support.

In his inaugural speech as monarch in September 2022, King Charles stated: “I count on the loving help of my darling wife, Camilla.”
