Man who taunted Ketel Marte about late mom banned by MLB, White Sox

An individual at a baseball recreation who ridiculed the lifeless mom of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte has been banned by the White Sox and Main League Baseball indefinitely, the league confirmed Wednesday.

Marte was in tears on the sector after the individual attending the White Sox dwelling recreation in Chicago Tuesday made the comment, and Diamondbacks supervisor Torey Lovullo comforted him.

Marte’s mom died in a 2017 automotive accident.

The fan, who was not recognized by MLB, made a derogatory comment about Marte’s late mom, MLB.com reported.

The 22-year-old man who made the remark was ejected by the White Sox, and a workforce spokesperson stated that the person was “very apologetic and remorseful” and admitted it was inappropriate, MLB.com reported.

The league stated that the White Sox and MLB collectively agreed to ban the individual from all MLB ballparks indefinitely.

The White Sox confirmed their assist for Marte throughout Wednesday’s second-of-three collection, displaying on boards “Baseball is household” and “the White Sox neighborhood helps Ketel Marte.”
