Motorcyclist Dies in Three-Vehicle Crash Near Innerleithen

A 53-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision involving three vehicles on the A72 near Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders.

Crash Details

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 on Saturday. It involved a black Yamaha YBR 125 motorbike, a grey Citroen C4 Picasso, and a yellow Citroen DS3. Emergency services pronounced the biker dead at the scene, with no other injuries reported.

Police Response and Investigation

Officers closed the road for eight hours to conduct initial inquiries. An investigation continues to determine the full circumstances of the crash.

Sgt Dave Waddell urged witnesses to come forward, stating: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died. We would like to thank the members of the public who assisted at the scene.”
