Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, 25, publicly confirmed his relationship with rapper Rubi Rose, 28, on Valentine’s Day through a series of affectionate Instagram posts.

New Relationship Goes Public

The couple shared multiple photos capturing their time together, including a mirror selfie, a kiss, and moments riding a quad bike. Rose, who boasts nearly five million Instagram followers, also highlighted gifts exchanged: an upscale pair of shoes from Rice and a luxury bag she presented to him.

Recent Domestic Violence Allegations

This announcement comes just over a month after Dacoda Jones, the mother of Rice’s two children, posted graphic images on Instagram showing bruises, cuts, a damaged home, and torn clothing. In a detailed statement, Jones described years of alleged abuse.

“I’m so tired of keeping quiet. I’m so tired of protecting his image. I’ve been through too much in a span of 8 years and I’ve had ENOUGH! I’ve dealt with abuse for years… He’s very controlling, there’s been times he’s came to my new home broken my door, there’s been times when he would put his hands on me while I was pregnant even had the audacity to lock me outside all night in ten degree weather because he got caught cheating.”

Jones continued, accusing Rice of destroying her belongings after infidelity, neglecting their children, and failing to honor financial agreements. Although she did not name Rice directly, the post was widely viewed as targeting him.

The Kansas City Chiefs acknowledged awareness of the claims, prompting the NFL to launch an investigation the next day. Rice offered no public response. Jones removed the posts shortly after.

The allegations drew support from Chariah Gordon, partner of former Chiefs teammate Mecole Hardman, and Sheawna Weathersby, ex-girlfriend of Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones. Rice’s grandmother rejected the claims, attributing them to a dispute over apartment payments.

In July 2025, Rice received a 30-day jail sentence and five years’ probation for his involvement in a May 2024 multicar crash on a Dallas highway. He raced a friend in a Lamborghini, fled the scene, and later pleaded guilty to charges of collision involving serious bodily injury and racing causing injury. He must pay victims $115,482 in medical costs.

Chiefs’ Future Role

Despite the Chiefs’ disappointing 6-11 record last season, missing the playoffs, Rice remains a key asset on his $6.5 million contract. He began the year with a six-game suspension tied to the crash and recovered from an ACL injury sustained previously. Coach Andy Reid anticipates offseason adjustments, with Rice central to the team’s plans.
