Rescuers discover misplaced Australian surfer on uninhabited island: “One in 1,000,000 miracle”

A teenage Australian surfer feared misplaced at sea was rescued Thursday after spending the evening on an uninhabited island miles offshore, officers and native media stated.

The person, named in native media as 19-year-old Darcy Deefholts, reportedly went for a surf off a seashore in Wooli, a coastal city 300 miles north of Sydney.

He’d left residence on Wednesday afternoon.

“When he didn’t return residence, involved relations contacted officers,” New South Wales police stated in assertion.

Police launched a land and water search round Wooli Seashore and the surfer was “positioned safely” on the small island the next day, they stated.

The person spent the evening on North Solitary Island, about seven miles off the coast, in response to Sydney’s Each day Telegraph.

The rescue was a “one in 1,000,000 miracle,” {the teenager}’s father, Terry, informed the newspaper after earlier saying on social media he’d feared the worst.

His son was receiving medical therapy.
