Robert Pattinson appears completely transformed in a matted blonde wig and smudged red lipstick for a bold, gender-blurring photoshoot alongside Zendaya in the March issue of Interview magazine.
Reunited for Upcoming Films
The stars reunite ahead of three major releases. They portray a couple facing a hidden secret on their wedding day in the comedy The Drama, set for April. Pattinson joins Zendaya in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three and Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
Provocative Photoshoot Highlights
Photographer Nadia Lee Cohen captures Pattinson in a silk bodysuit from Chloé, his blonde wig disheveled and makeup artfully smeared. In another shot, he leans against a stark wall with oxygen canisters, wearing an androgynous Valentino blouse and slacks.
Pattinson smokes a cigarette, staring intensely at the lens, his wig looking worn and dirty. Zendaya poses nearby in unbuttoned Levi’s shorts, laddered tights, and an Isabel Marant crop top against a plain backdrop.
The duo matches in floral ensembles: Zendaya in a flowing blue Chloé gown, Pattinson in a Palace Costume dress with his face creatively obscured. Other images feature elegant Dior outfits, Acne Studios tank top and trousers for him, and a Tom Ford leather jacket with skintight pants for her.
From Twilight Fame to New Horizons
Pattinson rose to fame as Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga alongside Kristen Stewart. Reflecting on the experience, he stated, “I really enjoyed making the movies, but then there was such a huge marketing push behind it as well. I didn’t want to get my personal identity caught up in that, so I tried to push forward my individuality a little, and that kind of stuck with me.”
He added, “It was also interesting getting famous off of playing a part—people thought I was that character in the beginning. It was quite strange, but it also allowed me to push against it.”
In a recent interview, Pattinson praised his co-star: “She’s great. I really, really like her. And yeah, she’s incredible in The Drama as well and in all of them.”
Dune: Part Three Memories
In Dune: Part Three, Pattinson plays the shapeshifting Scytale, while Zendaya reprises Fremen warrior Chani. Filming spanned Hungary and Abu Dhabi, with Pattinson recalling a standout moment driving into the Liwa Oasis desert.
“You’ll never experience these things in any other profession,” he said. “Being out in the desert shooting Dune, it’s weird. I remember shooting a scene with Zendaya… I’m like, ‘Oh! We’re, like, in Dune!’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah…we’re doing a Dune movie.’ It was really, really fun.”
