Staffordshire Police uncovered a significant cash hoard during a raid on a Rugeley man’s property after observing a suspected drug deal.
Drug Deal Observation Leads to Arrest
Officers spotted a drug transaction in Rubery last September involving the driver of a BMW. They followed the vehicle, driven by Robert Studzinski, 44, from Rugeley, back to his home address.
Upon arrest, police searched Studzinski and discovered 12 snap bags of cocaine, two mobile phones, and £30 in cash.
Shed Safes Reveal Hidden Cash and Drugs
A subsequent search of the property yielded two safes in a shed containing £5,545 in cash. Additional cocaine, valued at £4,500 on the street, was also recovered.
Court Sentencing
Studzinski faced charges of possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug and possession of criminal property. He pleaded guilty to the offenses.
On Thursday, February 26, at Stafford Crown Court, he received a sentence of two years and nine months in prison.
Police Efforts Against Organised Crime
A Staffordshire Police spokesperson stated: “We’re working hard every single day in Staffordshire to tackle serious and organised crime on our streets. Thanks to the efforts of our county-wide proactive teams, working alongside local officers, staff and partners, we arrested 354 people believed to be involved in serious crime between January 1 and December 31 last year.”
