NFL enthusiasts scrutinize Dianna Russini’s past statements following photos of her with New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona. Both individuals, each married with two sons, firmly deny any romantic involvement after images surfaced showing them hugging and relaxing poolside at the exclusive Ambiente resort.

Photos Spark Speculation and Denials

Russini’s employer, The Athletic, describes the photos as misleading and lacking essential context, emphasizing they captured public interactions amid a crowd. Sources close to Russini explain she visited the hotel during a hiking trip with two female friends. Vrabel’s associates note he drove to Sedona for the day with a third friend, spent time with Russini and her group, then returned to a hotel two hours away.

However, eyewitnesses report seeing neither Vrabel nor Russini with others. One observer stated, ‘No, he was with a girl.’ Vrabel attended a scouting event at Arizona State University in Tempe earlier that Friday before traveling 125 miles to the romantic getaway spot.

Russini’s Playful Comments on Her Marriage

Fans revisit a 2021 episode of ESPN’s Get Up, where Russini discussed her marriage to Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt. ‘I’m married to someone average,’ she remarked. ‘I don’t post a lot about him. If I was married to someone beautiful, I’d over-post too.’

Co-hosts prompted clarification, and she added, ‘We’re average together.’ She shared that Goldschmidt texted her support during the segment: ‘Good luck today. Be great on Get Up.’ Russini laughed, ‘So the guy’s got a heart of gold, and here I am on national TV killing him… Look, we’re average together, but he makes me above average because he married me.’

In another clip, Russini recounted cold feet before her 2020 pandemic wedding. During a phone interview with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on the Dan Le Batard show, she said Garoppolo joked, ‘Hey, night before your wedding, you sure you want to do this?’ She noted her mother once favored Garoppolo as a match.

Russini also shared on the ‘Stugotz and Company’ podcast that her mother teased their marriage was ‘falling apart’ because Goldschmidt appeared less stressed and better groomed. ‘You know I’m starting to think he’s got a girlfriend… Good for him. He looks good, he’s successful, his wife’s never around,’ her mother quipped, before admitting it was to ‘keep you on your toes.’

Defense of Vrabel’s Coaching Prospects

Social media users highlight Russini’s support for Vrabel after his 2024 dismissal as Tennessee Titans head coach. On a podcast, she explained challenges in his job search: ‘I don’t think there was a fit for him… A GM at the Senior Bowl mentioned Vrabel’s physical build? That he’s a very large human being and can be very intimidating.’

She dismissed the notion initially but acknowledged, ‘I’ve been in rooms and somebody’s physical presence can make a difference.’

Enduring Commitment

Despite the jests, Russini calls her wedding the best day of her life. In a 2022 Instagram anniversary post, she wrote to Goldschmidt: ‘It’s you and only you, for me, forever.’ Vrabel remains married to Jen, his college sweetheart from Ohio State, for over 26 years.
