Made In Chelsea star Sam Vanderpump and his wife Alice Yaxley stepped out for a rare date night on Sunday, one month after welcoming their son Marmaduke.

Special Theatre Outing in London

The couple attended a performance of The Hunger Games: On Stage at a purpose-built theatre in London’s Canary Wharf. The event marked the 14th anniversary of the film’s UK cinema release.

Sam, 29, matched Alice, 24, in coordinated all-black outfits. He layered a sporty jacket over a shirt and smart trousers, while she opted for a chic cropped trench coat paired with pedal pushers and pointed heels.

Alice gave birth to Marmaduke on February 9 at the Kensington Wing of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Wedding Amid Health Battle

The pair married in December following Sam’s diagnosis with end-stage liver disease. Earlier, in late 2024, Sam fell seriously ill with flu, which led to sepsis and liver and kidney failure. He now awaits a liver transplant.

Despite the challenges, they prioritized their relationship and wed while Sam remained well enough. The low-key ceremony, arranged in four weeks, included a dinner at The Lanesborough. They selected Alice’s dress together and skipped traditions like a first dance or lengthy speeches.

Sam shared in an interview: “I was struggling emotionally in the weeks leading up to the wedding because of everything going on with my health. But I have been so over the moon happy these past few days.”

Health History and Fears

Sam proposed to Alice in March, shortly after a January hospitalization for liver and kidney failure from sepsis. He was born with congenital hepatic fibrosis of the liver and polycystic kidney disease, conditions that remained dormant until December.

In an episode of the We Need To Talk podcast with Paul C Brunson, Sam revealed his fears after learning of his transplant need, especially upon discovering Alice’s pregnancy. He said: “I always get sad when I think my dad’s never going to see his grandchild. To now start having that thing dawn on you. Am I going to see my child? That’s terrifying.” Sam’s father passed away seven years ago.

Celebrity Guests at the Event

Other stars joined the audience, including The Traitors winners Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby. Rachel wore a plaid co-ord with a YSL clutch. Pregnant Laura Whitmore hid her bump under a tiger-print shirt and shades. EastEnders‘ Charlie Brooks donned a long wool coat, while Dancing on Ice‘s Vanessa Bauer showed legs in a white mini dress, tights, knee-high boots, and a leather jacket. Sinitta flashed her midriff, and TV’s Martin Lewis chose a casual jacket and jeans.
