A 42-year-old Tennessee woman faces theft charges after allegedly taking more than $30,000 worth of upscale wine, photographs, and artwork from her ex-husband’s home on South Greer Street while he was incarcerated.

The Alleged Break-In

Caley Spotts entered Joshua Spotts’ residence between February 27 and March 2. Joshua reported the incident to Memphis Police on March 31, stating that the items vanished during his jail stint.

A former associate of Joshua allowed Caley access to the property. She initially claimed she was retrieving belongings for their children. However, the associate observed her removing artwork and other valuables and loading them into her vehicle.

Investigators questioned Caley, who confessed to possessing the stolen items from the home. Authorities arrested her on property theft charges. She was released on her own recognizance and must appear in court on April 13.

Joshua Spotts, a former realtor, faces his own theft accusations. In November 2025, officials charged him with stealing property valued between $10,000 and $60,000. He had signed a contract to manage a woman’s rental property, handling rent collections and security deposits for maintenance.

The property owner reported receiving none of the funds and confronted Joshua, who then ceased communication. She claimed a $14,000 loss.

Additionally, court records show Joshua faced charges in a separate 2024 case for depositing nearly $25,000 in bad checks and accessing about half the funds.
