Vera Wang, 76, captivated attendees at the BAFTA Awards Nominees Party in London on Saturday. The renowned designer joined celebrities at the National Portrait Gallery event, held ahead of Sunday’s award ceremony.
Wang showcased her age-defying physique in a striking black co-ord set, featuring a bandeau cropped top and a flowing maxi skirt. She accessorized with long leather gloves, an oversized black hat, and a dark grey fur hand muff, striking confident poses on the red carpet.
She shared a warm embrace with actress Kate Hudson, both beaming for photographers.
BAFTA 2026 Nominations Overview
The 2026 BAFTA nominations, announced last month by Rising Star nominee David Jonsson and Aimee Lou Wood, highlight top contenders. One Battle After Another leads with 14 nominations, including a nod for star Leonardo DiCaprio. Sinners follows closely with 13 nods, while Marty Supreme and Hamnet each secure 11.
Frankenstein and Sentimental Value earn eight nominations apiece. I Swear and Bugonia receive five each, and The Ballad of Wallis Island, Pillion, and F1 garner three.
The Best Film category features Hamnet, Marty Supreme, One Battle After Another, Sinners, and Sentimental Value. Hamnet, directed by Chloe Zhao and based on Maggie O’Farrell’s novel about William Shakespeare’s family, sets a record for the most nominations for a female-directed film in BAFTA history.
Key Acting Categories
Jessie Buckley adds a Leading Actress nomination for Hamnet to her awards season achievements, including a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award, plus Oscar and SAG nods. She competes against Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
Paul Mescal, snubbed at the Oscars, earns a Supporting Actor nod for Hamnet, facing Benicio Del Toro and Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), Jacob Elordi (Frankenstein), Peter Mullan (I Swear), and Stellan Skarsgård (Sentimental Value).
Leonardo DiCaprio seeks a second BAFTA in Leading Actor for One Battle After Another, up against Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Robert Aramayo (I Swear), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), and Jesse Plemons (Bugonia).
In Supporting Actress, Wunmi Mosaku (Sinners) vies for a British win alongside Carey Mulligan (The Ballad of Wallis Island), Emily Watson (Hamnet), Odessa A’Zion (Marty Supreme), Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas (Sentimental Value), and Teyana Taylor (One Battle After Another).
First-Time Nominees and Directing Contenders
First-time performance nominees include Robert Aramayo, Odessa A’Zion, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti, Michael B. Jordan, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Stellan Skarsgård, and Teyana Taylor. In Best Director, Ryan Coogler (Sinners) and Josh Safdie (Marty Supreme) debut alongside established names.
Sinners, fresh off a record 16 Oscar nominations, contrasts with One Battle After Another’s 13 Oscar nods and strong BAFTA presence across acting, directing, and technical categories.
