KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — President Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned Sunday that Ukrainian officers arrested a suspect within the taking pictures loss of life of former parliament speaker and distinguished pro-Western politician Andriy Parubiy.
Zelenskyy mentioned in a press release on X that an individual was taken into custody after taking pictures Parubiy within the metropolis of Lviv on Saturday. No particulars in regards to the suspect or a motive for the killing had been launched.
“The mandatory investigative actions are ongoing. I’ve instructed that the obtainable info be offered to the general public,” Zelenskyy mentioned.
Parubiy, 54, was a lawmaker from the Lviv area who participated in Ukraine’s Orange Revolution in 2004 and led self-defense volunteer items throughout the Maidan protests of 2014, which compelled pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych from workplace. He was parliament speaker from 2016 to 2019.
