NSW Police fear an 85-year-old man was accidentally abducted from his home in North Ryde, about 15 kilometers northwest of Sydney’s central business district, shortly after 5 a.m. on Friday.
Officers have released a photo of the elderly resident believed to have been taken during the incident. Investigators suspect he was not the intended target and urge the public to help secure his safe return.
Police Statement and Ongoing Probe
“Police consider that the man who was reportedly kidnapped may not have been the intended target and are appealing for his safe return,” NSW Police stated. “Detectives confirm they remain in ongoing communication with the man’s family as inquiries continue.”
