Devan Kaney, a prominent sideline reporter for the Philadelphia Eagles, has lost her position at 94WIP-FM Sports Radio amid ongoing cost-cutting efforts. Kaney joined the station in 2022 and balanced roles as a co-host on the WIP morning show and Eagles game sideline reporter, covering their Super Bowl-winning campaign.

Kaney’s Confirmation and Fan Support

Kaney confirmed the change via social media, stating, “I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time working there. But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”

Weeks earlier, she shared season highlights on Instagram, captioning them: “Fairly certain a football field is my happy place… I am so beyond grateful to get to do something I love week in and week out with such wonderful people. Thank you @philadelphiaeagles @sportsradio94wip and each and every person involved in our gameday broadcasts for an incredible season. Figured I’d share some moments that didn’t make the feed to cap it all off. Until next year!”

Fans responded with praise, including comments like “Amazing work this season (as usual!)”, “You did a great job all season”, and “You did extraordinary work during the season.”

Broader Industry Layoffs

Audacy, the parent company of 94WIP-FM, eliminated Kaney’s role as part of widespread reductions in sports media jobs. This follows the recent departure of Taryn Hatcher from NBC Sports Philadelphia, where she covered MLB’s Phillies and NBA’s 76ers. NBC Sports Philadelphia explained the move as a shift in its storytelling approach to attract a wider audience.

Kaney continues as weekend sports anchor and reporter at FOX 29 Philadelphia, a role she started in 2023.
