Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson stays committed to his current form despite growing transfer interest from clubs like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United. Forest values the England international at £100 million following his strong integration since joining from Newcastle in 2024.

Staying Grounded Amid Speculation

Anderson prioritizes his play for Forest. In a press conference previewing the Europa League play-off second leg against Fenerbahce, he stated, “I’m just focusing on my football at the moment and performing and trying to give everything for Nottingham Forest, really. So that’s all that’s on my mind.”

He reflected on his two years at the club: “It’s been a big two years. I think I’ve done pretty well, to be honest, in the time I’ve been here, on and off the pitch. I think I’ve matured as a person as well. Thanks to the club, really, for giving me that platform, going out there and playing and letting me do my stuff.”

Transition from Newcastle

Anderson’s move from his boyhood club Newcastle stemmed from profit and sustainability rules. He noted, “Obviously in players’ careers, you never know where you’re going to be. Moving from your hometown is a big step in your career. And it was definitely something that I needed to do and it has turned out really well. So I was happy I made that step.”

England National Team Prospects

England manager Thomas Tuchel favors Anderson, often pairing him with Arsenal’s Declan Rice. Anderson hopes to secure a starting spot: “I hope so. There’s just so many good players in the England team. Obviously, I’ve played this year, but I’m also needing to perform in the Premier League, in the Europa League, to keep the spot.” He positions himself for a key role as England pursues World Cup success this summer.

Manager Backs Squad Commitment

Teammate Morgan Gibbs-White faces similar links to Manchester United. Forest manager Vitor Pereira emphasized focus: “I’m not hearing this. Every day is work. I feel they are very committed to our target, which is the most important thing. He is a top player, a captain; a top player with spirit. Elliot is the same – a top player with spirit. That’s why I accepted the job, because I have very good players. We need to prove – every day with our work and on the pitch – we don’t just have talent in the team but we can also create a strong team together.”

Forest holds a 3-0 lead heading into the second leg against Fenerbahce, positioning them strongly for the Europa League last 16.
