Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jo Adell delivers one of baseball’s most stunning defensive displays, robbing three potential home runs in right field during a tense 1-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners. This performance secures the Angels’ first home win of the season.

The First Two Wall-Climbing Catches

In the first inning, Adell leaps at the right field wall to deny Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh a home run, showcasing his elite jumping ability. He replicates the feat in the eighth inning, snatching a deep fly from Josh Naylor in nearly the identical spot, keeping the shutout intact.

The Ninth-Inning Spectacle

The game’s defining moment unfolds in the ninth. JP Crawford drives a ball down the right field line, prompting Adell to sprint, extend his glove, and snag it while tumbling headfirst over the padded wall into the stands. Adell emerges with the ball raised high as Angels fans erupt in celebration, leaving Crawford stunned at home plate.

Reactions from Adell and Teammates

“That was crazy,” Adell says postgame. “Just after the first one, we were pretty fired up out there. And then I got the second one, which looked identical to the first one. And I was like, ‘Wow, like my routes are on point tonight.’ The third one was just grit, just top of the ninth, getting it done.”

Former Angels star and nine-time Gold Glove winner Torii Hunter hails it as the greatest defensive outing he has witnessed. “I’ve never seen three and I’ve never seen a guy on the third one fall in the stands, catch the ball, keep his feet in like he’s a wide receiver, and come up with the catch,” Hunter states. “I was so excited, jumping up and down. The pressure almost caused me to pass out. I’m 50. I can’t have that kind of pressure. It was amazing, man. It was the greatest defensive game I’ve ever seen.”

Angels manager Kurt Suzuki adds, “It was the Jo Show. This guy works as hard as anybody I’ve ever been around. His work ethic, attention to detail, his desire to improve every single day. To see him do that, I don’t believe you’ll see that again. That was impressive.”
