The European Union introduced Monday that it’s suspending for six months its deliberate countermeasures towards the US’ tariffs, which which have been set to take impact this week.
“On 27 July 2025, European Fee President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald J. Trump agreed a deal on tariffs and commerce,” the EU Fee spokesperson for commerce mentioned in a press release.
The spokesperson touted the settlement as restoring “stability and predictability for residents and companies on either side of the Atlantic.”
“The EU continues to work with the US to finalise a Joint Assertion, as agreed on 27 July,” the spokesperson mentioned.
“With these goals in thoughts, the Fee will take the required steps to droop by 6 months the EU’s countermeasures towards the US, which have been as a consequence of enter into drive on 7 August.”
