A Russian courtroom freed a French bicycle owner on Thursday after discovering him responsible of illegally crossing the Russian border, state information company RIA reported.
Sofiane Sehili, a French citizen who describes himself as an “ultra-endurance racer and journey bicycle owner,” was freed by the courtroom in Russia’s Far East and exempted from paying a 50,000 nice, RIA reported.
French newspaper Le Monde reported in September that Sehili had been arrested after twice trying to cross the Russian border from China whereas attempting to interrupt the world report for the quickest cycle crossing of the Eurasian landmass, from Lisbon to Vladivostok.
