Ant McPartlin Buys £10M Surrey Mansion After Wimbledon Tree Row

Ant McPartlin has relocated from London to a spacious new-build mansion in Surrey valued at £10 million, marking a fresh start for his family.

Escaping Past Disputes in Wimbledon

The television presenter, aged 50, sold his previous £6 million property in Wimbledon just two months ago, where he had resided since 2019 alongside his wife, Anne-Marie Corbett. The move follows a contentious planning battle over tree removal at the former home, a three-storey residence featuring five reception rooms, a cinema, a sun room, an open-plan kitchen, a study, and an office.

Local authorities initially approved the felling of six protected trees—four cypress trees, a Weymouth pine, and a yew—under a Tree Preservation Order. However, neighbors objected strongly, arguing in submissions that the environmental and community benefits of preserving the trees outweighed any personal preferences. One resident emphasized that such decisions should not hinge on the ‘personal whim of the applicant.’

In response to the backlash, revised plans emerged to retain the trees and adjust the property layout around them. Despite investing hundreds of thousands of pounds into renovations, McPartlin and Corbett opted to proceed with the relocation. A spokesperson clarified that the decision stemmed from family priorities rather than planning challenges.

Settling into Surrey’s Quiet Village Life

The new property, situated in a serene Surrey village, represents a record sale for the region and spans an acre of private grounds, promising a peaceful environment free from previous neighbor tensions. The purchase incurred £1 million in stamp duty alone, reflecting McPartlin’s financial stability bolstered by a recent £30 million contract renewal with ITV, shared with longtime collaborator Declan Donnelly. Notably, Donnelly, also 50, has acquired his third property on a single London street.

Local residents report a buzz around the arrival, with one villager noting, ‘Apparently, it is a record sale for the area and it’s all anyone is gossiping about. It is one of the prime private estates in an acre of grounds so he shouldn’t have trouble with the neighbours anymore.’

Sightings of McPartlin, Corbett, 47, and their son Wilder—born in May 2024—have become common as the family adjusts. Another local observed, ‘He looks very content and is always happy to say hello to people who recognise him but I don’t think he will be bothered too much around here as we are used to all the celebrities packing out the local hostelries.’

Family Background and New Beginnings

McPartlin and Corbett began their relationship in 2018, soon after his divorce from Lisa Armstrong, to whom he had been married since 2006. An insider highlighted the couple’s commitment, stating, ‘It’s surprising after all that they spent on the place but Ant’s got plenty of money to sink into their next home and make it just how they want.’

The family appears to be integrating smoothly into their expansive new surroundings, prioritizing privacy and comfort in this upscale rural setting.
