Recently unsealed documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case reveal that Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, expressed deep affection toward the financier in a series of emails shortly after his release from prison in 2009.
Ferguson’s Emails and Visits
The files, released under the Department of Justice’s Transparency Act, include an email from Ferguson to Epstein stating: ‘You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe my love and gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.’
Just months after Epstein’s 2009 prison release, Ferguson reportedly visited him in Miami accompanied by her two daughters, then aged 21 and 19.
In another 2009 email, she described Epstein as ‘the brother I have always wished for’ and expressed that she was ‘so proud’ of him.
Andrew’s Connections in the Documents
The disclosures also highlight Ferguson’s ex-husband, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, through newly released images showing a man identified as him positioned on all fours over a woman lying on the floor. In one photo, he stares directly at the camera, while in another, his hand rests on her abdomen. He wears a white polo shirt and jeans, with another person visible in a leopard-print chair nearby.
The images lack captions, and details about their timing, location, or photographer remain unknown.
Additional screenshots from the files show exchanges between Andrew and Epstein. In an August 2010 email, following Epstein’s guilty plea to soliciting a minor for prostitution and his 13-month work-release sentence, Epstein wrote: ‘I have a friend who I think you might enjoy having dinner with.’
Andrew replied: ‘Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch.’ Signed ‘A.’
These communications reference a ‘beautiful’ Russian woman and include an invitation for Epstein to visit Buckingham Palace.
Andrew has maintained that he severed ties with Epstein after a 2006 investigation began, reconnecting only in late 2010 to end the relationship in person.
Broader Context and Allegations
Andrew faces allegations, which he firmly denies, of sexually assaulting Virginia Giuffre as a teenager after she was trafficked by Epstein. These claims surfaced amid ongoing scrutiny of his Epstein ties.
Following a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview, Andrew withdrew from royal duties. Further attention arose from Giuffre’s posthumous memoir and the U.S. government’s release of Epstein-related documents, prompting King Charles III to strip Andrew of his HRH style and prince title last year.
Epstein died in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
