Interactive Wine Experience Launches in Apple Maps
Apple has introduced a new themed guide within its Maps application featuring wine destinations personally selected by actor Tomohisa Yamashita. The digital experience coincides with the ongoing second season of the streaming series ‘Drops of God’ on Apple TV+.
Global Vineyard Recommendations
The curated selection features nine prominent wineries across California and Europe, mirroring locations significant to the show’s narrative. Each entry includes contextual commentary from Yamashita about his selections, alongside practical visitor information such as operating hours, photographs, and travel details.
“This collaboration brings the series’ wine exploration to life,” stated Apple in its announcement. “Fans can discover acclaimed vineyards from France to California through the perspectives shared in the guide.”
Multimedia Integration
The interactive guide offers functionality to save locations directly within Apple Maps or share recommendations with contacts. Additionally, it provides direct access to the official season two soundtrack on Apple Music.
Expanding Themed Guides on Apple Maps
This initiative continues Apple’s pattern of creating location-based content tied to its original programming. Previous collaborations have included historical site guides for other Apple TV+ productions.
Streaming Availability
‘Drops of God’ continues its eight-episode season with new installments airing weekly. Apple TV+ subscriptions remain priced at $12.99 monthly, providing access to the service’s catalog of original series, films, and documentaries.
