A concerned wife traced her missing husband’s phone to a CVS store in Shaker Heights, Ohio, leading to the tragic discovery of his body inside a trash compactor.

Details of the Incident

Andrew Strand, a 34-year-old father of two, vanished while performing contract work at the CVS on Chagrin Boulevard. His wife, Jaymie Strand, reported him missing around 10 p.m. on Wednesday after losing contact with him for several hours. She used his phone’s location to pinpoint the store.

Officers arrived promptly and searched the property. They located Strand’s body in the trash compactor at the rear of the building. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Official Statements

Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole expressed sympathies, stating, “We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time.”

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner collaborates with police to determine the cause of death. CVS confirms full cooperation with authorities in the ongoing probe.

Family Tribute and Support

Strand, married to Jaymie for seven years, leaves behind two young children. A GoFundMe fundraiser highlights his dedication as a father who coached his son’s hockey and baseball teams and supported his daughter’s dance and gymnastics activities. “His wife and children were the center of his life and he loved them immensely,” the page notes.

Described as a mechanic who recently launched his own company, Strand earned praise as “a kind man who always showed up to support his friends or anyone who needed him.” His sudden passing has left the family in turmoil. The campaign has raised over $18,000 toward its $20,000 goal.
