Comedian Alan Carr has shared feelings of loneliness, prompting a bold plan to purchase a castle following his win on Celebrity Traitors.
Embracing a ‘Turret Era’
During a recent guest appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Carr announced his search for a castle to serve as his new home. He described himself as entering his “turret era,” inspired by the show’s iconic castle setting.
“I’m buying a castle. I’m having a midlife crisis. I want a turret to call my own. I’m in my turret era,” Carr stated. “I loved being in The Traitors castle, so I thought, ‘I’m going to get myself one.’”
Turning 50 this year, Carr compared the decision to typical midlife indulgences like a ponytail or Lamborghini. He expressed a deep affection for Scotland and envisions transforming the property into a vibrant community hub.
Vision for Animals and Community
Carr detailed plans for animals on the grounds, including donkeys and even reintroducing wolves, alongside visitors enjoying cream teas. “I’m lonely where I am. It’ll be nice, having people come there and have a cream tea. I want people to come in and have donkeys and stuff everywhere. I want it to be like a big old zoo,” he explained.
This ambition ties into his upcoming Disney+ series Castle Man, which documents his journey to find, buy, and manage a historic castle.
Triumph on Celebrity Traitors
Carr secured victory in the inaugural British celebrity edition of The Traitors by outwitting faithfuls Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga in the dramatic finale. He claimed the £87,500 prize pot for Neuroblastoma UK.
The Jonathan Ross Show airs at 9:35pm on Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX.
