Five young people have lost their lives in a tragic fire at a five-story apartment block in Manlleu, a town north of Barcelona in Catalonia. Five others sustained injuries during the incident.
Fire Erupts in Attic Storage Room
The blaze originated in the attic storage room of the building. For unknown reasons, the victims became trapped and could not escape, according to regional authorities in Catalonia.
Investigation Underway
Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire. Catalan police confirmed that none of the deceased residents lived in the apartment block.
