Married At First Sight Australia contestant Gia Fleur reveals she has started a new relationship with reality star Alan Wallace while her on-screen marriage to Scott McCristal continues to air on television.
The 35-year-old confirms their romance began quietly after filming wrapped, evolving from initial sparks into a committed partnership. The couple discusses future plans, including living together, as Gia’s TV storyline unfolds.
Initial Sparks at a Sydney Party
Gia and Alan first connected toward the end of MAFS filming through FaceTime calls. They met in person at a Sydney party in December. Gia immediately felt drawn to him, admitting strong jealousy when he spoke to another woman.
‘When I saw Alan for the first time I knew I liked him because I was getting super jealous of him speaking to another girl,’ Gia states. ‘I was following him around most of the day… I was instantly like that’s my man – he just doesn’t know it yet.’
She highlights their shared values and emotional maturity as key attractions. ‘What drew me to him was that he was emotionally mature and deep, and seemed to be everything on paper I had asked the experts for,’ she explains.
From Casual Talks to Serious Commitment
The pair exchanged messages sporadically before officially dating around New Year’s Eve. After Gia relocated to Melbourne from the Gold Coast, their bond deepened. ‘I knew it was more than a casual fling when I moved back to Melbourne and wanted to spend every single day with him and did,’ Gia shares. ‘I missed him when I was with him and we both were literally obsessed.’
Alan, also 35 and known from Stan’s Love Triangle, approached cautiously due to Gia’s recent TV experience. ‘Coming off a f**king experience like that I knew it would be very confronting,’ he says. He notes Gia’s persistent interest won him over, leading to deeper life discussions that aligned their worldviews.
‘When I had a bit of a conversation with her about not wanting to constantly talk about MAFS and all the reality TV stuff, that’s when things started to change,’ Alan reveals. The relationship now stands serious, with him asking her to be his girlfriend. ‘She’s moving in and things are progressing in the right way,’ he adds.
Navigating Secrecy During Show Airing
With Gia’s marriage to Scott still screening, the couple keeps a low profile to respect the storyline. Gia limits press appearances, stating, ‘Navigating the new relationship has been hard… I can’t keep pretending I’m with Scott when I’m so in love with Alan.’
Alan avoids watching the show. ‘I started watching the first episode she was in but after that I decided I didn’t want to see it,’ he admits. They recently enjoyed their first public date after months of private time together. Gia went public with Alan at her 35th birthday in January alongside co-stars.
Reflecting on the TV Marriage Breakdown
Gia pinpoints the final dinner party as the turning point with Scott. ‘I knew my feelings for Scott were gone after the final dinner party when he treated me like a piece of shit,’ she says. Issues persisted at the reunion and publicity events, where she felt disrespected and used.
‘He didn’t respect me when it came to speaking to other women and exes… I rarely felt complimented or reassured,’ Gia explains. Fundamental differences, like family goals, sealed the end. ‘He didn’t want kids and I did… he proved he was just there for clout.’
