Arsenal faces Everton at the Emirates Stadium this weekend, while rivals Manchester City travel to West Ham in London, following midweek European action.

Alvarez Eyes Potential Switch

The Argentina international, linked with Arsenal and Barcelona, affirms his current happiness at Atletico Madrid but refuses to close the door on a transfer. “I don’t know, I don’t know, but maybe yes, maybe no. You never know,” Alvarez stated. “But I’m very happy here. You ask me a question that will end up all over the place, but I’m happy. I’m thinking about the day-to-day, I’m working to improve, to give my best here. I never said anything bad about the club. I’m very grateful; the people have shown me their affection, so I’m very happy.”

Tactical Shifts Address Defensive Injuries

Persistent defensive injuries have forced Arsenal to adapt, with midfielder Christian Norgaard dropping into central defense. The Danish player, who joined from Brentford last summer, featured at center-back against Club Brugge in the Champions League last December.

Norgaard embraces the role. “It actually suits me very well,” he told Viaplay. “As a defender, you have a lot of the game in front of you. In the long run, it could be a good and suitable position for me. It’s nice to have a phase where I try it out.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and Norgaard discussed the positional change with Denmark coach Brian Riemer. “It’s always nice when time is set aside for something like this,” the 32-year-old added. “We were just discussing this potential opportunity for me to play centre-back. It was great that Brian could hear what thoughts and challenges Arsenal have had.”
