Several unannounced Nintendo Switch 2 titles have surfaced through recent ratings board approvals, fueling speculation about an impending Nintendo Direct presentation.
Recent Ratings Board Discoveries
ESRB ratings have unveiled ports for Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, Hell Is Us, and the stealth shooter Blood West. These games have already launched or been revealed on other platforms, but Switch 2 versions mark new additions to Nintendo’s hybrid console library.
Taiwan’s ratings board has also approved UN: Me, an upcoming adventure game, alongside Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5. The first three entries in the Devil May Cry series already thrive on the original Nintendo Switch, and surging sales of the fifth installment on rival systems position it as a prime candidate for the Switch 2.
Nintendo Direct Speculation Heats Up
Nintendo has hosted six Direct presentations in 2026 so far, including two tied to the Super Mario Galaxy movie, yet none have introduced fresh first-party titles beyond Pokémon Winds and Waves slated for next year. Typically, the company delivers a flagship Direct in the year’s first quarter, but this year features an array of smaller events like a Partner Showcase, Indie World, and a Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream stream.
The timing of these clustered ratings raises eyebrows, prompting online discussions. Reddit users note the pattern, with one stating, “Yeah, something’s happening in April.” Another observes, “Seriously, there’s gotta be a Direct happening soon or something because five in a row is just ridiculous.”
Switch 2 Momentum and Upcoming Titles
The Switch 2, recently launched, faces softening sales in Western markets. Nintendo requires a substantial Direct to reignite interest. Confirmed first-party releases this year include Yoshi And The Mysterious Book and Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, with Pokémon Winds And Waves targeting 2027 and no firm date for Splatoon Raiders.
As the Super Mario Galaxy movie hits theaters next week, attention may soon pivot back to bolstering the Switch 2 lineup. Observers debate whether the next event will be a full-scale Direct blending first- and third-party reveals or another partner-focused showcase.
