In 2014, an 18-year-old Texas resident, Kevin Jazrael Davis, committed a brutal murder in the apartment he shared with his 50-year-old mother, Kimberly Hill.
The Fatal Assault
Davis had grappled with disturbing sexual urges since childhood. One day, he confessed to his mother that he despised people and contemplated suicide. Hill responded that she could not prevent him if he chose that path. Davis perceived her words as indifference, igniting overwhelming rage.
He approached her from behind as she sat on the living room couch and attempted to strangle her with a cable. When she screamed, he seized a hammer and struck her head more than 20 times. To ensure her death, he inserted a knife into her brain, twisting it, and later probed with his bare hand, describing the sensation as ‘putty.’
Davis then sexually assaulted his mother’s body before fleeing. He soon surrendered by knocking on a neighbor’s door and requesting to call police.
Police Interrogation Revelations
During questioning, officers asked if this was his first such act. Davis replied, ‘I guess I lost my virginity to a dead corpse.’
When pressed on remorse, he stated, ‘In a way, yes. But I wouldn’t take back what I did.’ He added, ‘It’s strange, really. I did love her. She’s been the best mother.’
Davis also admitted to previously killing the family cat by strangulation and drowning, noting that relatives overlooked such behavior.
Trial and Sentencing
In court, Davis remained impassive as his sister, Desirae, testified: ‘You took the only person who had your back. Now you are all alone.’ He sighed nonchalantly, smiled during other testimonies, and waved at witnesses.
He labeled himself ‘perverted, terrible, and disgusting’ but maintained full sanity during the crime. After rejecting a 60-year sentence proposal, Davis pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a life term.
