Authorities in Bristol have issued CCTV images of four men in their 20s or 30s, described as Asian, sought for questioning following a rape in the city centre.
Details of the Attack
The assault occurred in Assembly Rooms Lane around 3:05 a.m. on March 29. Officers responded swiftly, arriving at the scene within eight minutes of the report and ensuring the victim’s safety.
Investigation Progress
Fast-track forensic analysis and extensive CCTV reviews have produced clear images of the suspects. They were spotted in the city centre that night and appeared to move toward the eastern part of the city between 3:30 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Almond emphasized the priority on victim support: “Her welfare has been of paramount importance to us. We will ensure she has the support she needs, not only now, but in the days and weeks ahead.”
He added that numerous enquiries continue, urging the public to help identify the men: “Further lines of enquiry are being followed up, and while those are ongoing, we hope there will be people who can help us identify these four men.”
Public Safety Measures
Almond addressed community concerns: “People will be understandably shocked and upset to learn of this awful crime. Rape offences where the suspect is unknown to the victim are not common and we wish to reassure everyone this is being treated with the utmost seriousness.”
High-visibility patrols have increased in the city centre this week and will persist over the bank holiday weekend.
