In a gripping Hollyoaks episode available now on Channel 4 streaming and airing on E4 at 7pm, villain Clare Devine meets an apparent watery demise after Sienna Blake pushes her from a pier during a tense confrontation.

Clare’s Chaotic Return and Reign of Terror

Clare Devine, played by Gemma Bissix, stunned fans last year by returning 12 years after being run over. Her revival unleashed mayhem in the village. Married to the head of a human trafficking ring, Clare allied with a serial killer and accidentally caused the death of her sister, Grace Black, portrayed by Tamara Wall.

Grief-stricken grandfather Froggy, played by John Middleton, alerted authorities to Clare’s crimes. She escaped custody and exacted revenge by murdering him earlier this week.

Kidnapping and High-Stakes Chase

The saga escalated as Clare abducted her daughter Tori (Harriet O’Shea), horrifying Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin). With baby Joseph also in the vehicle, Clare fled the village aiming to catch a ferry and escape abroad.

Tori, who had grown to love village life despite initial doubts about Sienna, tipped off her grandmother about their location. Sienna, aided by Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), tracked them down and secured Tori’s safety.

Fatal Showdown on the Pier

Sienna urged Clare to surrender baby Joseph unharmed. Clare, heartbroken by Tori’s betrayal, complied amid tears but then taunted Sienna, provoking her dark impulses.

Reminding Sienna of her secret—pushing Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) to his death—Clare suggested Sienna’s daughter Sophie would suffer a similar fate. Enraged, Sienna shoved Clare off the cliffside into the churning waves below.

Aftermath and Lingering Questions

Sienna reels from her actions as Sophie witnesses the fall and Cleo arrives moments later, confused by the scene. Cleo already harbors suspicions about the Blake family’s shadowy tendencies.

Is Clare Devine—one of Hollyoaks’ most iconic villains—truly gone? Previous incidents showed a body, yet she returned before. How will Sienna justify the incident to Cleo?

Hollyoaks streams Mondays to Wednesdays from 6am on Channel 4, with TV airings at 7pm on E4.
