Tori Spelling appeared behind the wheel of her SUV for the first time since a frightening rear-end collision in Temecula, California, last week. The 52-year-old actress, known for Beverly Hills, 90210, was driving in Calabasas on Tuesday with visible damage to the vehicle’s right rear quarter panel and tail light.

Details of the Collision

The crash involved Spelling’s SUV carrying seven children—four of her own—and struck by a white sedan that sped through a red light. All occupants required three ambulances for transport to Southwest Healthcare Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar. They received treatment for cuts, bruises, contusions, and concussions. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office reports no arrests, with the investigation ongoing. Eyewitness footage captured Spelling alongside her 13-year-old son Finn, 19-year-old son Liam McDermott, and his girlfriend Silvana de Luca at the scene.

Spelling skillfully maneuvered the vehicle to lessen the impact, protecting the children. The other car suffered extensive front-end damage.

Spelling Breaks Silence in Video

In a video shared Tuesday, Spelling praised the children’s bravery and recounted the incident. “Hi. I just wanted to reach out to everyone, and it just took me a bit to post this because as most of you know, four of my kids and I and three of their friends were in a car accident a few days before Easter in Temecula,” she said.

“We’re okay but it’s been really overwhelming. We are so grateful and so lucky because it could’ve been so much worse. The driver that hit us was speeding, was going crazy, crazy fast. He went through a light.”

She described turning sharply left upon spotting the oncoming vehicle: “Guardian angels were definitely with us that day, because in a split second I looked to my right and I saw he was coming full-on, full impact into the side of our car and I turned hard left as hard as I could as fast as I could to avoid as much impact on the children as possible. He spun us out.”

Spelling thanked first responders, hospital staff, and supporters: “I’m grateful to everyone who has reached out and repeatedly checked on us… So thank you, everybody, and still putting my thoughts together about everything that happened, and just so much gratitude for life and the bravery of all of the kids in the car.”

Recovery and Family Updates

Everyone involved was released from the hospital by Thursday night with minor injuries like small lacerations and bruises. Spelling spent Easter with her children, including a relaxed outing in Temecula during spring break. On Saturday, Silvana de Luca shared an Instagram Story of the group at a teppanyaki dinner, featuring 17-year-old daughter Stella.

Spelling shares 19-year-old Liam, 17-year-old Stella, 14-year-old Hattie, 13-year-old Finn, and 9-year-old Beau with ex-husband Dean McDermott, from whom she separated in 2023 after 17 years. She describes their co-parenting as strong: “We are great at co-parenting… We’re the lucky ones. We got good ex-partners.”

Recently, Spelling expressed reluctance to have her children leave home at 18, preferring a family-oriented household. She focuses on her career, including an upcoming role as a fortune teller in the horror video game Ghosts.
