Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has decided against pursuing memoir deals despite multiple lucrative offers, aiming to respect royal traditions.

Shift in Approach

The 44-year-old duchess hinted at writing a book similar to Prince Harry’s Spare during a podcast appearance last year. However, recent developments indicate she is no longer moving forward with the project.

Sources close to the couple confirm their caution in public endeavors. “Meghan and Harry are cautious about everything they do and say to uphold the standards of the monarchy,” one source stated. “Those [memoirs] are the types of projects they don’t want to do.”

Royal Context and Past Publications

This decision aligns with the Royal Family’s longstanding motto of “never complain, never explain.” Previously, the Sussexes have shared personal insights through various platforms, including Prince Harry’s memoir, which detailed private conversations with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Catherine.

In June 2021, Meghan published her children’s book, The Bench, about a year after the couple relocated to the United States.

Upcoming UK Visit

The choice comes as Prince Harry and Meghan prepare for a return to the UK this summer, one year ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. Public interest in royal revelations appears to have waned, with their Netflix projects concluding amid shifting viewer preferences.
