Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge, the 52-year-old My Kitchen Rules star, unleashed a profanity-laced tirade against online critics who targeted his appearance, calling out complaints about his ‘greasy hair,’ age, and weight.
Fiery Video Response
In a video filmed during a walk, Fassnidge addressed the backlash head-on. He explained getting locked out of Facebook years ago and returning to face harsh comments from ‘middle-aged privileged white people who are just nasty and bored.’
Quoting the trolls directly, he said: ‘Jesus, “your hair’s greasy, you’re fat, you’re looking old.”‘
Fassnidge also defended his recent partnership with Manu Feildel on the Channel Seven travel series Off the Grid with Colin and Manu, mimicking detractors: ‘”The show’s sh*t, you’re sh*t, your food sh*t.”‘ He fired back, ‘Mate, some of these people need a good dentist and a bit of moisturiser.’
Despite a touch of grey in his black beard, Fassnidge appeared fit and healthy in the clip.
Fan Support and Lingering Criticism
The post drew strong support from followers. One wrote, ‘You are the best,’ while another said, ‘Love you! Love your cooking! And you look amazing!’ A third advised, ‘F**k ’em, mate.’
Negative responses persisted, including one mocking, ‘Your hair’s greasy, and you’re just s**t lol… Grumpy old fart.’
The video garnered 194,000 views since its release on Tuesday.
Recent Court Appearance
This outburst follows Fassnidge’s court appearance last month after police charged him with driving under the influence of cocaine. Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command tested him at 3:20 p.m. on November 8 while he drove a grey ute on Malabar Road in South Maroubra, with results positive for the drug.
Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge criticized his use of illicit substances, noting their community impact. She stated, ‘You’ve got a lot to lose and when you lose, so does everyone else who’s invested in you.’ Milledge warned against using cocaine as a ‘release valve’ for personal struggles and opted not to record a conviction, instead imposing a two-year good behaviour bond.
This marked his second offense, following a 2022 fine for the same violation.
Fassnidge married Jane Hyland in 2006; the couple has two daughters, Lily and Maeve.
