Adrian Portelli addressed criticism of his new Channel Seven reality series My Reno Rules while revealing family plans during the lively opening of his LMCT+ petrol station in Preston, Victoria.

Response to TV Show Backlash

The 37-year-old billionaire entrepreneur shrugged off the mixed reviews following the series premiere. “It’s been one episode! Once the whole season is finished, then I will take the criticism,” Portelli stated. “But for now, just sit down, watch the show and enjoy it!”

Family Plans Revealed

Portelli and his partner Karlie Butler welcomed their second child, daughter Ayla Grace, in February. When asked about more children, he joked, “I don’t know yet… We’ll sort this petrol out and then I’ll get to work!”

Wild Scenes at Preston Petrol Station Opening

Hundreds of fans gathered Wednesday night for the launch of Portelli’s first LMCT+ service station. Chaos ensued as hoons in modified cars revved engines and performed burnouts nearby. An e-bike rider collided with a car, flying through the air before landing and fleeing the scene. Witnesses report the rider stood up after the impact.

Police, already investigating another vehicle, pursued the e-bike rider on foot. They later tailed Portelli’s convoy, pulling over one unrelated car. Security chased off a driver blocking a green light by idling and revving.

Despite no fuel sales yet, crowds lined up for food, leading to complaints about long waits.

Million-Dollar Giveaway and Fuel Crisis Relief

The event peaked with Portelli’s signature giveaway, where one attendee won $1 million. Announced in December 2025 as an LMCT+ extension, the stations aim to provide competitive fuel prices amid Australia’s shortages.

“Yeah, look, I’m gonna do what I can to relieve that,” Portelli said of the crisis, triggered by Middle East conflicts and the Strait of Hormuz closure, which doubled prices and caused shortages. “I’ve got my customer base that have supported me over the years, so I’m willing to take a hit to the pocket to support them in these times.”

He acknowledged plans to raise prices eventually: “This is just something to say thank you. But you know, we’re gonna obviously have to at some point increase our prices, but like I said, we’re gonna give wholesale fuel.”

Portelli’s Business Empire

With an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, Portelli built his fortune through LMCT+, property investments, and a supercar collection, leveraging a gambling regulation loophole.
