Beverley Callard maintains that the I’m A Celebrity… South Africa cast members all got along well, despite the dramatic reunion during Friday’s chaotic finale. Adam Thomas emerged as the tearful Jungle Legend winner in a series marked by bullying allegations and heated disputes involving Adam, Jimmy Bullard, and David Haye.
Beverley, who exited the jungle early on medical grounds and later received a breast cancer diagnosis, skipped the live final on doctors’ advice. From her living room in Dublin, she shared a social media video praising the experience.
Beverley’s Positive Take on Camp Dynamics
“Well, what a final that was,” Beverley said. “As someone who was in there, not for the whole time unfortunately, I missed the last few days, but it was the most amazing experience—an opportunity of a lifetime.”
She highlighted the finalists: “Adam is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve known him for years, and his brother Ryan, and his dad and their mum. They are just beautiful people. Sean is fantastic. Gemma’s fantastic. David was fantastic.”
Beverley addressed the aired tensions: “If you saw the bits that they cut out, everybody really got on. When there were heated moments, they showed those, but the loving moments, they didn’t show as much. Trust me, everybody got on, and after the show tonight in London, they will all be going for a drink and having a mega time—every single one of them.”
She added, “I wish I could be there, but it was a great bunch of people, every single one.”
Explosive Confrontation During the Final
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly allowed Jimmy to address an alleged clash where Adam called him the ‘C-word’ during a trial. Jimmy’s decision to say ‘I’m A Celebrity’ put Adam at risk of elimination, sparking the row.
Jimmy questioned each campmate on whether Adam’s behavior was ‘aggressive and abusive.’ Gemma Collins and Sinitta stormed off stage amid the uproar. Ant intervened: “Right, let’s leave it there. We’ll agree to disagree.”
Jimmy later admitted, “I threw Adam under the bus, I get it and I’ll wear that. But what I don’t stand for is someone being abusive, aggressive, and intimidating.” He challenged the hosts: “You were there and you didn’t show any of that footage. You didn’t show the C-bombs—it’s a liberty.”
Ant responded: “The reason we didn’t air the C-bomb is because it’s unbroadcastable. I was there, Jim, and I didn’t think it was intimidating.”
David Haye, previously accused of bullying Adam, supported Jimmy and criticized editing: “A lot of banter was cut out. It’s time for the truth.” Adam retorted, “Let the finalists speak,” drawing crowd cheers.
Adam took responsibility: “Emotions were running high. I have nothing but love for Jimmy. I’ve apologized numerous times—that’s not how I want to show myself.” David interjected, prompting Ant and Dec to demand he stop.
Aftermath and Lingering Tensions
Post-finale, Adam appeared downcast exiting with brothers Ryan and Scott Thomas, his victory overshadowed. Ant shared an awkward encounter with Jimmy and his wife Anne-Marie Corbett, laughing it off as security intervened.
Sinitta shouted while leaving the stage: “Guys, you weren’t there—I was, and it was aggressive and abusive. We were shaking.” Gemma, Adam’s friend, followed suit. Jimmy persisted: “You can’t be aggressive and abusive—it doesn’t matter if Adam said sorry.”
The fiery exchange raises questions about the show’s future amid the unresolved disputes.
