General Hospital actress Kirsten Storms reports that her cellphone has been hacked, prompting an active investigation by police in Franklin, Tennessee.

Franklin Police Department spokesperson Max Winitz confirms, ‘There is an active investigation.’

Storms Details Device Issues on Instagram

The 42-year-old actress, known for portraying Maxie on the ABC soap since 2005, shared a video on April 9 using an old phone. ‘I’m recording this actually on one of my old phones,’ she explained. ‘And I’m going to send it to that and then upload it as fast as I can and then turn that device off.’

Storms described interference with her devices after moving into the Legacy Cool Springs Building in Franklin. ‘The cell phone where my Instagram app is logged in is the one I was using when I lived there, and when I log on and connected to WiFi, certain things start happening with it,’ she said.

She reported deleted emails, photos, and videos, some submitted as evidence to Franklin police. The post included images of a damaged door latch and lock, captioned ‘Update on cellphone hacking situation, apt break-in and investigation by Franklin PD.’

Break-in Evidence and Building Response

On April 14, Storms posted Ring camera footage showing someone at her apartment door after her WiFi router reset. ‘This is a video of someone outside my apt front door, immediately after my WiFi router was reset,’ she stated.

She mentioned unauthorized devices on her Verizon home internet and a broken lock, urging the leasing office to cooperate with police. ‘I’m still hoping the Legacy Cool Springs building is able to cooperate with the Franklin Police Department, so that I can have peace of mind about who was entering my apartment while I was out of town.’

Storms continued facing issues with her cellphone and iCloud access. Recently, she received an eviction notice after reporting the break-in, with no response from the leasing office.

Ex-Husband Raises Concerns in Court

Storms shares 12-year-old daughter Harper Rose with ex-husband Brandon Barash, 46, a fellow soap actor. Married from 2013 to 2016, both now live in Tennessee.

In December 2025 court filings, Barash expressed worries about Storms’ mental health and ability to care for their daughter, leading to an approved restraining order. He noted her report of ‘delusions and hallucinations’ in May 2025, resulting in a psychiatric hold assisted by Barash and his current wife, Isabella.

Barash highlighted housing instability from September 2024 to June 2025, frequent hotel stays due to paranoia, an eviction lawsuit, impending vehicle repossession, and an unpaid $5,000 loan. He described repeated meltdowns, perceived thefts, voices, and associates’ concerns over possible Adderall misuse. Barash seeks a mental health evaluation for Storms, who currently has supervised visitation.

Despite these challenges, Storms maintains steady employment, appearing in over 1,700 General Hospital episodes. She previously starred in Days of Our Lives and as a child actor in shows like All That and Kim Possible. Last fall, she sought treatment for a brain aneurysm.

Fan Support and Health Speculation

Daytime TV fans on Reddit express empathy. One user noted, ‘Kristen has had a rough few years healthwise,’ adding that Barash balances parenting while encouraging help. ‘I hope she can get whatever help she needs. I don’t think there are any villains here.’

Others link symptoms to her disclosed brain aneurysm, hoping for medical intervention, even if it requires a show hiatus.
