Kylie Jenner turned heads at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday with a provocative flesh-toned ensemble featuring apparent fake nipple imprints. The Kardashians star showcased her dramatically slim waist in the revealing look, complemented by what appears to be bleached eyebrows. Her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, did not attend the high-profile event in New York City.

Kylie’s Daring Outfit Details

The outfit centers on a flesh-colored bodysuit that accentuates her cleavage and cinches at the back like a corset. A cream-colored satin gown gathers at the hips, adorned with pale pink and lavender beads and embroidery for an elegant contrast.

Met Gala 2026: Theme and Dress Code

The annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, held the first Monday in May, adopts the theme ‘Costume Art’ with a ‘Fashion Is Art’ dress code. Attendees interpret the human body as a canvas for design innovation.

Co-chairs include Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams—marking Williams’ first time in the role—alongside Vogue’s global editorial director Anna Wintour. Kidman previously co-chaired in 2003 and 2005, while Beyoncé served as honorary chair in 2013.

Exhibition Highlights

The accompanying exhibit pairs historical and contemporary garments across categories like the classical and nude body, aging and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body. It opens in the new Condé Nast Galleries on May 10, 2026, and runs through January 10, 2027.

Curator Andrew Bolton explained at a press conference, ‘The title “Costume Art” refers to the history of the Costume Institute.’ He added that fashion achieves ‘the status of art because of, and not in spite of, its relation to the body.’

Sponsors and Host Committee

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez serve as lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs. French luxury house Yves Saint Laurent also supports the exhibit.

The host committee features co-chairs Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz, plus members including Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Angela Bassett, Gwendoline Christie, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Sam Smith, and Teyana Taylor.

Event Significance

The Met Gala generates major funding for the Costume Institute. This edition follows Anna Wintour’s June 2025 announcement stepping down as American Vogue editor-in-chief after 37 years, appointing Chloe Malle as the new editorial head. Wintour remains deeply involved, credited with elevating the event’s celebrity allure.

Last year saw lower attendance, possibly linked to the ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ theme exploring Black dandyism.
