President Donald Trump and key administration officials toured the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday, with the presidential motorcade driving directly through the emptied Reflecting Pool undergoing renovation.
Renovation Ordered by Trump
Last month, President Trump directed contractors to overhaul the iconic Reflecting Pool, citing its poor condition. He tasked his ‘pool guy’ with resurfacing it using an upgraded ‘industrial grade’ finish in ‘American flag blue.’
Progress Check and Team Meeting
White House communications advisor Margo Martin posted on X that the visit aimed to ‘see the progress of the project and meet the hardworking team behind it.’
Accompanied by Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, President Trump spoke with the Oklahoma-based painting crew. He highlighted his strong electoral performance in Oklahoma, prompting one worker to respond, ‘We love you in Oklahoma.’
