Amy Childs, the 35-year-old TOWIE star and mother of four, has opened up about her dramatic weight loss, which dropped below 7 stone following a brief trial of skinny jabs and her mother’s heart attack.

Fans first noticed her slimmer appearance in recent Instagram swimwear posts, sparking criticism especially after her wedding photos emerged last month.

Brief Trial of Skinny Jabs Ends in Illness

Childs shared on the No Parental Guidance podcast that she experimented with skinny jabs for two weeks to lose extra baby weight, even while training and eating healthily.

“Prior to this I did try skinny jabs, I’ll be honest with you,” she stated. “I wanted that little quick fix.”

The experience turned terrifying. “I was so ill – I cannot tell you,” Childs confessed. “I was being sick, nauseous – I thought I was pregnant.”

She spent three days bed-bound, prompting her to stop immediately. “It actually scared me how ill I was,” she added. “I’ve got the kids, really? They’ve got to look after their mummy.”

Childs, mother to nine-year-old Polly, seven-year-old Ritchie, and three-year-old twins Milly and Billy, noted that while the jabs work for many—including her mother’s friends—it did not suit her.

Mother’s Heart Attack Triggers Further Loss

After halting the jabs, Childs’ weight continued to fall sharply when her mother, Julie, suffered a heart attack last year.

“All of a sudden my mum had the heart attack, and that’s when it went downhill for me,” she explained. Four months later, she hit her lowest at 6 stone 13 pounds, too anxious to train properly.

Ongoing Scrutiny and Path to Recovery

Childs faces constant online abuse about her wedding appearance. “You look terrible at your wedding. You looked so skinny… You’re a role model for your daughter,” she cited as typical comments. “I get abuse every day.”

She now trains three times a week and plays padel, reporting improvements in her well-being.

Last month, Childs married partner Billy Delbosq, 43, in a legal ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall. The couple, who met five years ago on a night out, plans a larger celebration this September.
