Hewitts List Luxe Sydney Estate with Tennis Court for $14M
Tennis legend Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, former actress Bec Hewitt, are reportedly seeking a significant return on their investment as they list their expansive Sydney property for an ambitious $14 million. The couple, who purchased the Glenhaven estate in Sydney’s Hills District just three years ago, have now placed it on the market.
The sprawling property, situated on approximately two hectares of land, features a six-bedroom, four-bathroom residence. Among its notable amenities are a championship-sized tennis court, a resort-style swimming pool, and numerous high-end finishes designed for luxurious living.
Property History and Enhancements
Records indicate the Hewitts acquired the estate for $10.3 million in 2023. The home was previously owned by former Parramatta Eels player Nathan Hindmarsh and his wife, Bonnie, an interior designer. Under Bonnie’s stewardship, the original red-brick house was transformed into a sophisticated coastal barn-style retreat.
Since taking ownership, the Hewitts have reportedly undertaken further enhancements. The grounds have been meticulously landscaped, and the tennis court has undergone a professional resurfacing. The company responsible for this work is also known for preparing courts for the Australian Open.
Resort-Style Living and Amenities
The single-level residence, accessed via secure electric gates, offers a lifestyle of opulence with soaring vaulted ceilings and expansive open-plan living spaces. A designer kitchen, complete with a large stone island bench, breakfast bar, and butler’s pantry, serves as the home’s centerpiece.
Further features include a dedicated wine cellar, multiple zones for indoor and outdoor entertaining, a private gym, a guest cottage, and a mudroom. The exterior of the estate is designed to evoke a private resort atmosphere, boasting a sparkling swimming pool, two paddocks, and a substantial barn equipped with a removable sprung dance floor.
Real Estate Portfolio and Personal Life
This listing marks another significant move in the Hewitts’ well-documented real estate endeavors. The couple has cultivated an impressive property portfolio over the years.
After relocating from Sydney in 2016, they resided in Melbourne’s Toorak, where they purchased a mansion for $12.7 million and later sold it for $15.2 million in 2022. Their return to Sydney led to the acquisition of the Glenhaven estate, which has served as their family home.
Lleyton and Bec Hewitt have been married since 2005 and are parents to daughters Mia, 20, and Ava, 15, and son Cruz, 17. Their previous property holdings have included homes on the Gold Coast and a weekend retreat in Palm Beach.
The couple’s relationship began after meeting at a charity tennis game in 1999, with their romance blossoming and leading to a whirlwind engagement and marriage in 2005. Following their wedding, they resided in a villa in the Bahamas before returning to Australia in 2016.
