Pop Superstar and NFL Star Attend Acclaimed Play
Pop icon Taylor Swift and her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce, made an unexpected appearance at the Broadway production of Oh, Mary! in New York City this past Saturday. The Grammy-winning artist, currently preparing for her wedding to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, enjoyed a quiet evening out at the Lyceum Theatre.
A Star-Studded Evening
The couple mingled with the cast and creative team backstage following the performance. Swift, 36, was notably stylish in a floor-length, dark burgundy velvet dress paired with open-toed heels. Her blonde hair was styled in an elegant updo, with a few loose strands framing her face. She accessorized her look with multiple gold necklaces and a gold bracelet.
Kelce sported black trousers and a patterned shirt, topping off his ensemble with a red cap featuring the name ‘Elwood’ on the front. The pair had the opportunity to meet Maya Rudolph, who stars in the play as Mary Todd Lincoln. They were also photographed with producer Lucas McMahon, director Sam Pinkleton, and cast members Cheyenne Jackson, Martin Landry, Bianca Leigh, and Phillip James Brannon.
Behind the Scenes of ‘Oh, Mary!’
Oh, Mary! is described as a dark comedy that explores the life of a despondent Mary Todd Lincoln in the critical weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. The play has garnered significant attention for its unique premise and performances.
Witnesses reported that Swift and Kelce arrived shortly after the show commenced. During the curtain call, the singer reportedly rose to her feet for a standing ovation. Following the performance, the couple was seen leaving the theater hand-in-hand, continuing their evening in the city.
