Transfer Window Buzz: Hull City Eyes New Signings

The summer transfer window is officially open, signaling a period of intense activity as clubs across Europe gear up for the upcoming season. Premier League newcomers Hull City are reportedly making significant moves, aiming to bolster their squad with key additions.

Hull City Pursues Sporting Braga Goalkeeper

Hull City has initiated discussions with Sporting Braga for their imposing 6ft 6ins goalkeeper, Lukas Hornicek. The newly promoted side is understood to be seeking two new goalkeeping options for their return to the top flight. Reports indicate an offer of £12.5 million, plus potential add-ons, has been tabled for the 23-year-old Czech Republic international.

Hornicek, who is currently part of his nation’s World Cup squad, is reportedly open to a move. However, Braga is understood to be holding out for a higher valuation, especially considering the player’s previous interest from clubs such as Leeds United, Inter Milan, and Porto.

In addition to a permanent signing, Hull City is also exploring options for a second goalkeeper on loan. An initial inquiry was made regarding Bayern Munich’s Alexander Nubel, but the German international is reportedly holding out for interest from a larger club. Nubel, 29, was recently on the bench for Germany’s victory over Curacao and has spent the last three seasons as a regular starter for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, following a two-season loan spell with Monaco.

Midfield Reinforcement Targeted from Manchester United

Beyond goalkeeping reinforcements, Hull City is also keen to strengthen its midfield. Scouts have been dispatched to observe talent at the World Cup, and the club is actively exploring the Croatian market. A key target is reportedly Toby Collyer of Manchester United. Hull City had the 22-year-old midfielder on loan at the close of the previous season and is now looking to discuss a potential permanent deal.

The club believes Collyer would benefit significantly from a full pre-season training camp and has the potential to develop into a midfielder capable of making an immediate impact in the Premier League.
